Scooter from Suzuki Motorcycle “Access”

Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd released a brand new scooter aimed at the Indian market. The scooter will be called the ‘Access 125′ and funnily enough will have a engine capacity of 125 cc. One of the benefits of this machine is that in test conditions is was shown to have a mileage of 65 km per litre.

The scooter is expected to be available in your local stores from the first week of next month. This Scooter is going to have to compete with my local India favourite the “Bajaj”

Here are the basic stats:

• four-stroke engine
• automatic transmission
• rust free body
• central locking system

Suzuki expects to sell around 5,000 units a month. The Indian mid size scooter market currently sells 40,000 units total so Suzuki is aiming high!

The Suzuki marketing machine is choosing not to aim this scooter at any particular segment of Indian society and argues that this machine is designed for every member of the Indian family.

I personally feel that the Indian market needs another scooter and will try and arrange a test ride when I am next over there. Will keep you informed…
