Vespa is using the pollution problem as a reason to buy and I firmly believee that choosing a scooter rather than a SUV is a step in the right direction. So in order to push this, I think we all need to see how bad a problem pollution is becoming. Blacksmith ( the environmental organization) just released its top worst polluted places on earth.

- Linfen, China
- Tianying, China
- Sukinda, India
- Vapi, India
- La Oroya, Peru
- Dzerzhinsk, Russia
- Norilsk, Russia
- Chernobyl, Ukraine
- Kabwe, Zambia
However whilst it is useful to know that these places are polluted - a picture is worth a thousand words. Thankfully the team at National Geographic have posted images of each of these places.
Being so near to this pollution has led to dangerously high blood lead levels in nearly all of local children. Lung cancer and disease is widespread, and large numbers of premature death have been related to the existence of the pollution. How someone can choose a car after viewing these images is beyond me!
